Two day upholstery course in West Yorkshire

So you want to learn upholstery? And you want to treat yourself to a one day or two day course and to immerse yourself in the experience of an upholstery course?

At Manorhouse School of Upholstery we have exactly what you need.

Based near Huddersfield in West Yorkshire our 1 day and 2 day weekend courses include just about everything that you need to create a beautiful footstool - all you need to choose is the fabric for your top cover. You can bring your own or buy from our supplies - all we ask is that you check with us prior to attending the course to make sure your fabric is suitable, or that we have a supply of your choice.

Created as an introduction to the skills of upholstery, your footstool project will start with a solid frame and legs. You will learn to use sewing and upholstery tools as well as the techniques and skills required to create a footstool. You will learn how to work with fabric to get the best from the pattern, how to apply foam, how to fold and cut corners, how to shallow button and how to finish a project. You will also have a choice of waxes to finish your legs to complement your chosen fabric. This course is led by Jan Dyson.

Class sizes are small to ensure you get the most out of the experience and at the end of two days you will be able to take your footstool home to show off your new-found skills.

A light lunch is provided along with refreshments during the day; parking is available onsite; and fun is guaranteed.
